The first anniversary livestream for The Apothecary Diaries anime, hosted on TOHO's official YouTube channel, premiered a new trailer for Season 2 today. It confirmed the release date as January 10, 2025, and announced a continuous two-cour broadcast, which is approximately half a year, for the eagerly awaited sequel. Crunchyroll has already confirmed that it will stream the new series.
Additionally, a new key visual was revealed, accompanied by a seasonal visual showcasing fall cosmos flowers and the concluding piece of Halloween-themed art.

"The Apothecary Diaries," based on the light novels by Natsu Hyuuga and Touko Shino, is directed by Norihiko Naganuma of "The Ancient Magus' Bride" fame, who also acts as series composer. Akinori Fudesaka of "Tsuredure Children" assists in directing at TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM.
The historical drama anime, streamed by Crunchyroll, unfolds as follows:
Maomao, once leading a tranquil life with her apothecary father, finds herself sold to the emperor's palace as a humble servant. Unsuited for a life of subservience in royalty, she steps up when the imperial heirs fall ill to seek out a remedy. Her actions draw the attention of Jinshi, an attractive palace official, who elevates her position. Maomao begins to carve out her reputation by unraveling medical enigmas.
