They were lucky enough to find the Venusaur ex card within their first booster pack purchase in 20 years. The Pokemon TCG tabletop and collectible card game published eight expansion sets between 1998 and 2003 under Wizards of the Coast before The Pokemon Company took over licensing. Similar to the OG collector getting back into the game after 20 years, it’s fairly common for fans to dip in and out of the hobby, and the game's expansion releases show no signs of slowing down.
